But I am concerned to read of Bruce's difficulty in finding a cold beer. Surely in a town with a fine name, like Killarney, there must be a retail emporium for the supply of Guinesss?Douglas Wilcoxhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12113557051872905710noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18086284.post-26393137987251563322008-06-28T17:38:00.000-04:002008-06-28T17:38:00.000-04:00Bruce - I guess we must have passed each other on ...Bruce - I guess we must have passed each other on the Wednesday as I was on that coast in the morning... The only other kayaker I saw during the week was a guide out of Killarney Mountain Lodge tooling about on his day off.Michaelhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10632365495050691161noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18086284.post-54132313701388529202008-06-28T12:09:00.000-04:002008-06-28T12:09:00.000-04:00Must have just missed you Michael. We were camped at Hinks Island on Wed night with a sail boater who missed the entrance to Beaverstone Bay in the heavy breeze that developed on Wed. afternoon. Still swells early Thursday so we didn't go to the Chickens but headed back to the west and were enveloped by fog until @ 2 pm. I always wondered why there was a long portage at Big Rock Bay but after going around the point on Wednesday I see why. Lots of shoals mean breaking waves all around, rebounding, and very exposed. Friday morning brought perfect weather to end the trip. Finished with Herbert fish and chips. The only thing that could make them better is a cold beer. We had 4 days with no rain. Can't beat that for June 2008. Bruce and MonicaBrucehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05858813443871761168noreply@blogger.com
