I was thinking of going for a paddle this morning, but things got in the way. Bird things! These wild turkeys have been coming around the house for the past few days driving our dogs nuts. I don't mind feeding the birds, but these seems to much. Besides, how can I leave nutty dogs to go paddling? What would I come home to at day's end?
I wonder if these birds are any good to eat? I am feeding them after all, maybe they could return the favour...

I am from Israel. Your pics are telleing such a different story of daily life, nature and paddeling!
Very tasty.
I count 9 sunday dinners on your lawn!
What are the local laws around this? If you stop feeding them maybe they will stop hanging around.
Sadly we won't be eating the 9 dinners you see on the lawn. There's a legal hunt each spring, but it's by lottery only. Not being a hunter will reduce my chances of winning a hunting permit considerably!
As for paddling, my lake is now ice blocked with no way of launching safely until spring.
You're welcome here, and we have some open water and a place for you to stay.
Could there just be "a suspicious absence" of a bird or two? Seems a healthy population there, and your feeder is probably helping one or two survive a winter that they might otherwise not? ;-)
