Ken Campbell, who wrote about his paddling trip circumnavigating Newfoundland eight years ago in a book called Around the Rock, is about to repeat the trip, this time out west. He's setting out to do a winter solo voyage around Canada's other rock in the sea: Vancouver Island. If he makes it around, he figures it will be the first time it's been done in the winter months.
