Yesterday, a warm, sunny calm day, came out of a cold, rainy weekend. I wasn't the only person to take advantage of it to squeeze one more day out of a season of generally poor weather. Three other kayakers were on the lake as well as this boat with the surrey top. Everyone was bundled up to keep warm, but there was no need. Even the 9°C temperature seemed warm in the sun.

Yes, the experience of warm sunshine in the early "rainy season" (here on Vancouver Island) is, indeed, a treat here too - for our paddle, it was a starry night.
Always enjoy your blog,
Duncan.
9 degrees - that's a heat wave, Michael!
Been helping a friend winterize some of the local yachty boats - steady 80-90 kms. NE, straight in off the Bay, temps barely above zero, as much white as blue out on the water. Loving every minute - lots of layers, polypro and merino, and you're good to go...
Rick - ya can't beat NL weather, can ya?
Ya can beat it with a stick, a big stick...
