What a Day!

Some days are just meant for paddling and nothing else... First you drive down leafy roads to the put-in...

... then you paddle calm waters, under brilliant skies...

... and the heavens burst into colour to celebrate the drive home. Does it get better than that?

Just beautiful!

It is very seldom our leaves ever get to develop full autumn colour. The wiond and rain gets them first. A carpet of dry crunchy leaves on the ground sounds wonderful. Here you get a soggy mess. "Leaves on the track" is even a favourite excuse for late trains!!

:o)

Hey Rick, I don't live in Newfoundland... yet! ;-). Now that it's officially a 'have' province unlike Québec, I'm considering a move, at least during the summer...

Douglas - perhaps we could begin exporting coloured leaves to those wishing to avoid the soggy lawn look...!

Very nice shots Michael. I do live in Newfoundland and there are still 6 or so food banks that need constant filling. As with most have places, only "The Have"....have it!

So true, Stan - still hard enough for lots of folks here, especially those on low or fixed incomes. Sad to see population, especially the young, continuing to bleed away from so many outport communities. While oil revenues have improved the province's financial situation, there's a heck of a lot of catching up to do to bring infrastructure and public services to acceptable standards. A paddler's paradise, perhaps, but it ain't Utopia just yet...
